Needle-Free Pediatric Health Care
Sho (little) ni (child) shin (needle) is a pediatric treatment method developed in Japan, which is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine theories. It first came into practice in the 17th century, but in the last 75 years has become the primary treatment for children throughout Japan. Shonishin is a needle-free technique that gently rubs and massages major acupuncture points and muscle groups.
Why is shonishin used?
When should a child receive Chinese medicine treatment?
When a child is well, they receive Chinese medicine and shonishin once per month. When there is a problem, three to four treatments a month are adequate until the adjustments and changes are made and corrected. When a problem is acute, treatment can be daily.
